Time2Talk

At Ingram Road Primary we promote an inclusive, restorative environment in which each individual is valued and respected. We have an ethos of setting high expectations of attainment for all pupils with consistently applied support, tailored to each individual child where needed. We recognise that all children and young people need a solid foundation of positive mental health to benefit fully from all of the opportunities that are available to them. We want our children to be resilient and mentally healthy, so that they can succeed.

Time2Talk is a safe and confidential environment for children and parents to be able to talk about any problems they may be experiencing with our trained counsellor Anna. She is available every Monday and Tuesday. Parents, children or school staff may make referrals.

There are a range of reason why a child may be referred to Time2Talk or refer themselves to the lunchtime drop in -

  • To cope with difficult feelings such a loss, parental separation, anxiety or sudden change.
  • To express their worries through talking, creative work and play.
  • To explore new ways of coping with difficulties, so they don't get in the way of learning or friendships.
  • To talk about friendships or other worries with an independent counsellor.

Ordinarily a child may be referred by their teacher to have some one to one support, but if you as the parent/carer have concerns with regard to your child's emotional health and wellbeing eg. they may be appearing upset or angry or maybe even withdrawn, then please don't hesitate to contact Anna or your child's teacher team to discuss these concerns.

Time2Talk is also available for short term work with parents, offering you support with any issues affecting your parenting and/or relationship with your child.
