Our Sporting Partnerships & Achievements

As a school we are very proud to work with Active Schools Leeds and the Leeds South & Central School Sport Partnership and take part in competitive school sport gaining a School Games Gold Award for our participation in local competitions for the last 4 years.

To achieve the Gold Award we have evidence to show our increased participation in inter-schools competitions, and have also been able to show the increased participation of sport across the whole school at individual pupil level; here are some of our stats:

  • Children at Ingram Road have access to many afterschool sports clubs, including; Dazl dance (KS1 & KS2) Multisport (KS1& KS2) NFL, Netball, U11 Football, U9 Football, Leeds United Girls football (Wildcats), Leeds Rhinos rugby and Active Club (KS1). For which we have an extremely high uptake.

  • Children access at least 15 minutes of sporting activity run by external coaches (15 min session for each Phase Foundation –UKS2) every lunch time to keep them healthy and active, run by Health For All, as well as access to lots of other engaging sports activities such as; football, rounders, tag rugby and lacrosse.

  • Ingram Road has staff who are dedicated to pupil engagement in sport with 4 teaching assistants running clubs and lunch time activities. These staff members being fantastic role models towards the children.

  • We have achieved the Gold school games mark for the fourth year running, due to our increased participation in physical activity, of which we are extremely proud of.

  • In 2018/19, we had a fantastic sporting year with a group of children reaching the NFL finals at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London sponsored by Subway. Our U11 Football team came top of the local schools league, and we had the highest participation of sporting events that we have ever recorded - over 40 different events in the academic year.

  • In 2017/18 we stepped up our after school activities by providing 2 or more different sporting clubs every day, run by both internal and external coaches.

  • In 2016/17 we were highly commended by Active Schools Leeds' Awards night for promoting 60 minutes of exercise a day.

  • In 2015/16 we participated in a record number of sports events attending 20 fixtures/events, even attending 2 finals at the TSLA and winning 2 trophies (which we believe may be down to our new lucky kit, which we look great in).
