Welcome to Cedar Class

All about your class teacher;

My name is Miss Staggs and I am excited to be working in KS1, this year. When I'm not busy doing teacher things, I really love to spend time outdoors, walking my dog called Bella.

Our class;

In Cedar class this year, the adults are Miss Staggs, Mrs Begum, Miss Silver and Mrs Ridge.

This half term we are learning about;

During the Autumn term, Cedar class will be learning all about Yorkshire and the local area. We will be using maps, globes and atlas' to identify our local area and we will start to look at directional language using bee-bots and compasses.

In English, the children will be using comman (bossy) sentences to write their own instructional texts. You can support your child by writing sentences together at home.

In maths, the children will be learning all about the place value of numbers. We will do lots of counting to 100 and will focus on identifying numbers.

Our key vocabulary;

Recent -  something that has just happened.

Living memory – when something happens in a lifetime.

Locality – where a place is found.
