Welcome to Beech Class

All about your class teacher;

I am Miss Lockwood.

I have been a teacher for ten years and before that I worked in nurseries. I always knew I wanted to work with children, even at five years old, I was always bossy and making my younger brother sit and do writing!

In my spare time, I enjoy reading and watching rugby league. I also love to travel - my favourite country is Germany.

Our Class;

The adults in Beech class are; Miss Lockwood, Mrs Kirkham, Mrs Kay and Mrs Dovgan.

This half term we are learning about;

During the Autumn term, Beech class will be learning all about Yorkshire and the local area. We will be using maps, globes and atlas' to identify our local area and we will start to look at directional language using bee-bots and compasses.

In English, the children will be using comman (bossy) sentences to write their own instructional texts. You can support your child by writing sentences together at home.

In maths, the children will be learning all about the place value of numbers. We will do lots of counting to 100 and will focus on identifying numbers.
