In the event of an Emergency School Closure

Sometimes it is necessary for school to close because of bad weather or other emergencies.

The Headteacher works hard to keep school open wherever possible but if circumstances mean that he has to make a decision to close the school or send children home early, there are various ways of contacting parents.

How we tell you if a school is closed?
Local radio stations play an important part in communications between school and parents. Once the Headteacher has made the decision to close school he will inform the local radio stations and ask them to broadcast a message to parents.

The local radio stations used are:

BBC RADIO LEEDS – 92.4 FM

RADIO AIRE – 96.3 FM

It is also possible to look on:

The RADIO AIRE website and its list of school closures: Radio Aire

The Leeds City Council website: www.leeds.gov.uk

We use a text messaging service, email and the School App to update parents. It’s really important we have your number otherwise you won’t get very important information and updates.

Please email: info@ingramroad.leeds.sch.uk to update us, ring the school office on 0113 2456136 or call into the Haven to give Miss Jeffrey your up to date details.

Thank you for your understanding and co-operation
