  • Letter from Governors

    Mon 08 Mar 2021

    8th March 2021

    Dear Parents,

On behalf of all the Governors at Ingram Road, I would like to welcome all parents and carers and your families back to school. I am sure that school opening for all has been a very welcome sign to you that things are returning to normal.

Governors have been meeting regularly with the Head and some members of staff, by Zoom, and they have told us about  how much effort parents and carers have put in to supporting pupils with remote learning. The Ofsted inspectors who carried out an inspection of our arrangements for remote learning were also impressed by the numbers of families who had taken part in remote lessons.

I’m sure we have all been worried that children have been missing out on vital learning experiences during these very difficult times. It has taken a big team effort to make sure that learning is still happening for our young people. The most important contribution in this team has come from you, the parents and carers of Ingram Road. We would like to congratulate you and thank you for everything you have done to keep your children learning. I hope you feel that your reward has come today as you enjoy a little more peace and quiet than you have been used to over the last few months.

    Chair of Governors

    Dear Parents/Carers

We have just received this fantastic news!!

    Dear Ingram Road Primary School

    Congratulations!

I am delighted to confirm on behalf of Asda Stores and Asda Foundation, your school has been chosen to receive 10 laptops and support bundles containing headphones, dongle and data to support children learning.

This donation has been made possible thanks to our partners Dell and Vodaphone. And your school was nomination by colleagues at our BEESTON Asda store.

Headteacher Sarah Millard said: “We can’t thank Asda and Dell enough for choosing our school to receive these laptops, they will go a long way in helping to break down digital barriers and help with any education remotely now and in the future.”

As soon as we receive the laptops we will be able to distribute them to children to support their learning.

  • Kellogs Breakfast Club Award Winner

    Mon 01 Mar 2021

    1st March 2021

    Dear Parents/Carers

We are so very proud to announce that Ingram Road have won the the title of 'Best Breakfast Club in Yorkshire & Humberside' at the the Kellogg’s Breakfast Club Awards!

    Miss Millard said:

‘We are extremely grateful and proud to have been chosen as your winner of this year’s Kellogg’s Breakfast Club Award. We work very closely with other charitable organisations and without them, it would not be possible to provide this support to our families.

We intend to use the prize money to sustain our school breakfast club and to support our local foodbank so that our families and community remain food secure. Our children will be so excited to celebrate our success and enjoy their party pack when they are able to return to school.’

Thank you to all of the children who attend Breakfast Club, and to all of the children who enjoy bagels in our playground each morning and to all of the children who take boxes of cereals, porridge and bagels home for their breakfast. And of course, we couldn't run the breakfast club without our fantastic staff past and present, so thank you to all of them too.

    Yours faithfully

    Miss S Millard

  • School Re-Opening 8th March

    Mon 01 Mar 2021

    1st March 2021

    Dear Parents/Carers,

School to Re-open to all children on Monday 8th March 2021

As you may already be aware, the Government have announced that schools will re-open to all pupils on Monday 8th March 2021. All of our school team are very much looking forward to welcoming all of your children (Nursery through to year 6) back to school to re-start face-to-face education.

We are still working closely with the Local Authority and the Government in updating the school risk assessment which will be available to view on the school website as soon as we have finalised some of the details.

I can reassure you that as a school we have worked very hard to ensure that our whole school community has been safe when attending school throughout the past year and we want to ensure that we all continue to stay safe.

Lockdown restrictions will continue until the Government decide that we are all safe to gradually return to something that resembles our regular lives pre-covid.

We ALL (staff, children and parents) have a very important role to make sure that we can return on the 8th March with the same confidence by maintaining social distancing, wearing face coverings and washing hands regularly.

We would also like to thank you, and congratulate those of you who have continued to help your child with their home learning. We appreciate the difficult circumstances that many of you have had to face and hope that you are looking forward to re-establishing the daily school routine.

Lockdown has been a challenging period for all of us, and we’d like to thank you for your continued support during this difficult and uncertain time. If you or your child have any concerns about returning to school, or if you think your child might need extra support when they return, please get in touch with school either by phone 0113 2456136 or email; info@ingramroad.leeds.sch.uk

We will be in touch later in the week with further plans for re-opening.

    Yours faithfully
