  • Contact Tracing over Christmas

    Thu 17 Dec 2020

    17th December 2020

    Dear Parents/Carers

Before we break for the Christmas holidays I just wanted to thank you for continuing to social distance and follow guidance, with the announcement today that Leeds will remain in Tier 3. (see the graphic at the end of this letter for what that means for you and your family).

Everyone must continue to be vigilant in making sure that you wash your hands, use face coverings and keep a 2m distance from people who do not live in your household.

As we move into last couple of days of term, we would ask that nobody takes any chances; if your son / daughter is unwell, with known COVID-19 symptoms or any other type of illness, please do not send them to school.

Contact tracing over the Christmas Holiday

We have received notification from the DfE relating to our responsibility as a school for contact tracing for students over the Christmas break. As you will know, the staff at school have worked hard to support contact tracing out of normal school hours to ensure that our school community has kept safe. We have had a very limited number of cases and this is thanks to everyone continuing to following guidance which has served to protect our students, their families and our staff.

The DfE have recognised that this responsibility cannot continue across the entire Christmas break when close contacts will not have been on school site.

Below are some different scenarios and how students and parents should respond:

    • For the first 6 days after teaching ends (Saturday 19 –Thursday 24 December inclusive), if a student or staff member tests positive for coronavirus (COVID-19), having developed symptoms within 48 hours of being in school  (on  or  before  Sunday  20 December),  the school  is  asked to  assist  in  identifying  close  contacts  and  advising  self-isolation,  as the individual may have been infectious whilst in school.
    • In such cases please complete send an email via the school website ‘contact us’ page.

    • Where a  student or  staff  member  tests  positive  for  coronavirus  (COVID-19),  having developed  symptoms more  than 48  hours  since  being  in  school (later  than  Sunday  20 December),  the  school  should  not  be  contacted.  Parents  should  follow  contact  tracing instructions provided by NHS Test and Trace.

    • Where students are required to self-isolate due to contact with a positive case after the first 6  days  following  the  end  of  term,  schools  do  not  need  to  be  informed  about  their absence until the first day of the new term. Please do this by notifying the school attendance in the usual way.

Thank you for your continued support, we wish all of our school community a very safe and happy Christmas.

    Yours faithfully

    Miss S Millard

    Headteacher

  • Christmas Food Vouchers

    Tue 15 Dec 2020

    15th December 2020

    Dear Parents/Carers

With the Christmas holidays fast approaching I wanted to write to you to spread a little festive cheer. You may be aware that the Government have again confirmed that they will fund free school meals over the Christmas period by providing shopping vouchers for children and families who are currently entitled to Free School Meals.

We have consulted with the School Governing Body who support our wish to provide vouchers for ALL of our children (from reception to year 6).

I am sure you will agree that this is a very welcome gesture at a time when many of our families have had a very challenging year, in more ways than one.

Later this week, every child will be issued with a £30 voucher (£15 for each week of the holidays) via email/text message. Parents will soon receive a message asking you to register and select the supermarket you would like a voucher for. Once you have chosen a supermarket you CAN NOT swap.

This will be a one-off voucher, and will be available to ALL children from Reception to Year 6 who attend Ingram Road Primary school.

You will be able to select which supermarket you want to spend you vouchers in and these include:

    • ASDA
    • Morrison's
    • Tesco
    • Sainsbury's
    • Aldi
    • Iceland

If you do not want to participate and receive a voucher, please ignore the email/text – and your child’s allocation will be re-distributed to other families.

Please follow the instructions in the email/text you receive to claim your vouchers. Please note that if you have not selected your supermarket by Midnight on Friday 18th December you will no longer be eligible to claim the voucher.

Vouchers will be provided to you via email/text ONLY. For more information please visit the school website.

On behalf of myself, all of the staff and the School Governing Body, we wish you a very happy, safe and healthy Christmas!

    Yours faithfully

    Miss S Millard, Headteacher

Mrs D Porter, Chair of Governors

  • Road Safety

    Tue 08 Dec 2020

    8th December 2020

    Dear Parents /Carers

As part of the Schools Streets scheme (Leeds City Council Covid-19 response), you should not drive on the following roads around Ingram Road Primary School between 8.25am and 9.30am UNLESS you have a residents permit, (this has been in place since 8th June 2020):

    • Rydall Place (Crosby Street to Brown Lane East)

Staff, residents and deliveries will still need access and have permits for these times, therefore, when you are dropping off/collecting your children please make sure that your child is with you at all times, do not allow them to run up and down the roads as we are very concerned for their safety.

Many parents are still choosing to drive to school even though they maybe only live a couple of streets away. If you choose to drive, you will ONLY be able to park on Ingram Road - at the BACK of school near J P Wild builders.

IF YOU PARK WHERE IT IS NOT SAFE YOU MAY RECEIVE A FXIED FINE OF £30 FROM THE LOCAL ENFORNCEMENT OFFICER WHO WILL BE PATROLLING THE STREETS.

PLEASE DO NOT PARK ON BROWN LANE EAST – AND ESPECIALLY DO NOT PARK NEAR THE SCHOOL GATES.  This makes it very unsafe for children and parents to cross the road and you will be asked to move.

Please check http://www.leeds.gov.uk/schoolstreets for alternative parking if you need to park and stride.  We also have information on our school website.

Thank you for helping us to keep everyone safe.

    Miss S Millard
