  • School Closure January 5th

    Mon 04 Jan 2021

    Monday 4th January 2021

    Dear Parents/Carers

As you will be aware the Government has confirmed this evening that all schools in England will remain CLOSED until after the February Half term holiday (Monday 22nd February) as part of the National Lockdown to reduce the transmission of Covid-19.

School will be closed to ALL children tomorrow (Tuesday 5th January).

Ingram Road Primary School, along with many other schools, will provide reduced provision which means school will be open to certain pupils with reduced staffing from Wednesday 6th January.

Please can you let us know by 1pm tomorrow if you would like your child to attend from Wednesday 6th January so that we can consider all requests.

We will send a survey via email/text/app.

Consideration will be given to children:

    • whose parents are ‘key workers’, (click to see if you are a key worker)
    • those who are in receipt of Free School Meals (if you receive certain benefits)
    • who have a social worker
    • who have an EHCP (Education and Health Care Plan)
    • those whose parents have requested support

We will aim to confirm places by the end of the day on Tuesday. Your child can only attend if we have confirmed the offer of a place and you may be requested to provide proof of key worker status from your employer.

    Self Isolation

Your child will NOT be able to attend school if a member of your household has Coronavirus OR if you and your family have travelled outside of the UK over the Christmas holiday.  You must self-isolate for 10 days after the family member tested positive or after you returned to the UK.

If at the end of your isolation period, you would like your child to be considered for place for your child you must get in touch with school first and wait for confirmation of your place before you send your child to school.

If you are not offered a place your child must STAY IN YOUR FAMILY HOME with an adult and isolate to remain safe from the virus as per Government advice.

    Yours faithfully

  • School Update

    Mon 04 Jan 2021

    4th January 2021

    Dear Parents/Carers,

As many of you will have seen in the national news, the education unions have been advising their teacher members and support staff not to return to school on Tuesday 5th January for the first two weeks of the Spring Term.

The unions are advising staff that it is not safe to return to the classroom due to the new COVID-19 strain, however the Government are advising that it is, based on school’s risk assessments, which has been agreed by Leeds City Council.

We are also expecting a further announcement from the Government this evening clarifying the position of schools re-opening.

As you will appreciate this is very last-minute, due to the ever-changing advice in relation to the pandemic and our senior staff members have been working to put plans in place as quickly and as efficiently as possible.

Our COVID-19 risk assessment available on our school website is rigorous and robust and having consulted our staff, we are delighted to state that we currently expect to be open for all classes (Reception to Year 6) from tomorrow the 5th January with the same timetables for opening and collecting children at the start and end of each day as in the Autumn term.

If however, schools are advised to close after this evenings announcement by the Prime Minister (at 8pm) we will update you with the school’s plan immediately afterwards.

We would appreciate it if you could check your email/texts and our school website as any further updates will be communicated in this way.

    Yours faithfully
